Would RecommendI think that the clip needs to be on the lens side. Such small lights are usually attached to key chains in order to assist the user in loacating a door's keyhole. It is inconvienent that it points away from the door. With the clip ring on the lens side a user could turn on the light and point it in the direction of key insertion without having to remove the device from the key chain.
