What Customers Are Saying
The garden auger received mixed reviews. Some found it effective for planting bulbs and digging holes, but the majority reported significant quality and durability issues. Common problems included the auger shaft detaching, the spiral blade snapping, and the welds failing, even in relatively soft soil. While a few praised its effectiveness in loosening soil, the overall consensus is that the product is poorly constructed and unsuitable for anything beyond the lightest gardening tasks.

Would Not RecommendDrilled one hole, broke on the second. only had 2 tiny weld spots, no beads. spend the extra for a power planter auger instead

Great product for digging holes
Would RecommendThis auger saved me so much work. I needed to install one 4 inch wooden post. It was so easy to use and dug the hole very quickly. Wish i would have bought one of these sooner. Love it!!!

shoddy craftsman ship
Would Not Recommend3 tack welds holding this together. Broke after the second hole. Would not waste my money. Also one of the welds was not even welded.
dont waste your money
Would Not RecommendIt broke after only drilling in 4 holes
Blades on the shank spun loose after 3rd hole dug. Welds aren't secure and poorly manufactured.

It Broke!
Would Not RecommendHave soil that does have gray chunks of clay and of course rocks, it's dirt, you do feel when it's up against a rock but other then that it was kicking along until it hit the clay. The blade was detached from the middle shaft as if it slide up the pole when you apply the downward pressure. That is when I noticed no more dirt was being dug. I got through 4 holes, about 8 in diameter, then had to bust out the trusty dusty post hole digger. Which has lasted years, YEARS, which is from Lowe's.
Garden auger extraordinary
Would RecommendAwesomeness! Made planting easy and used by my contractor to finish up a small project for electrical outlet repairs!

Would RecommendSaved so much time and effort in planting 75 bulbs this spring. Should last a long time!

Should've Looked Closer at the End!
Would Not RecommendGot this to aid with planting. "Works with drills", it said. End of this thing is square. Drill chucks have three jaws. Finally got the drill chuck to hold it so it wouldn't flop around, but to really use it properly, the end needs to be hexagonal, unless there's some kind of adapter I need to buy.
Broke on third hole
Would Not RecommendLike others have reported, the flighting is just tack welded to the shaft at three or so spots, so my flighting just sheared off on the third hole when I hit a root. Not sturdy enough for any clay, rocky, or rooty soils.
May not last through one use….
Would Not RecommendThe crappy tack welds holding the shaft to the screw broke on first use, had to reweld them myself since it was over an hour drive to take it back to the store. Also the drill attachment point is square when most drills work better with hexagonal surface so I had to grind the sides off to make it mount better into a standard drill.
