What Customers Are Saying
The garden auger received mixed reviews. Some found it effective for planting bulbs and digging holes, but the majority reported significant quality and durability issues. Common problems included the auger shaft detaching, the spiral blade snapping, and the welds failing, even in relatively soft soil. While a few praised its effectiveness in loosening soil, the overall consensus is that the product is poorly constructed and unsuitable for anything beyond the lightest gardening tasks.

Used
Would Not RecommendWhen I buy something from Lowes, I expect to get a new product unless otherwise stated. This came in quickly but it apparently was a previous return. The clear packaging was already opened and dort was still on the blades. Would have to return even if it wasnt previously used because it does not fit in my drill. Don't understand why.

Worked well
Would RecommendDoes what it claims to do. Works well in non-rocky soil, works easier in damp ground.

Square shaft to fit in drill is bad
Would Not RecommendMost drills use a three point system in the chuck to secure bits, which works with hex or round. Doesn't work to well with square. Kept shaking the chuck open and the auger falling out before I could even finish a hole.

Auger headache
Would Not RecommendIt did one hole perfect but broke doing the next one. The ground was not hard at all. The center section went in and came out no problem but the spiral barely went in the second time before breaking free of the center piece. I had to use a regular wood drill bit to make the holes I needed. I do not recommend unless you are digging into mud.

Great tool
Would RecommendAfter the hurricane, my fence had fallen down in multiple places. I use this tool to loosen up the dirt so I can dig for post holes. After using it the first time I noticed it basically removed all the dirt by itself.

Auger snaps off even in soft soil
Would Not Recommend10 bulbs into planting 120 the auger snapped off the stem. Slips up and down. Absolute trash.
Garden Soil Auger
Would Not RecommendAuger is designed for loose, previously tilled, garden soil. Don't expect this product to work at heavy duty jobs like a 3-point hitch attachment.
Know your soil
Would RecommendThe first 14 inches of my ground is sand. Very easy to auger. BUT, then i havr hard clay and rock. I used a standard drill, but ultimately had to swith to my impact drill to get down to 24 inches.
