I've been using this knife for my bread for the past few years, but it isn't quite long enough to cut the loaves I make in my 5in. (w) x 9 in. (l) bread dishes. The standard bread pans, according to Google, are 9x5 and 8.5x4.5. It makes more sense to me, then, to buy a longer knife that cuts both sizes of loaf than this shorter one which can't.

6" bread knife
I do not like this knife. Doesn't work on cutting hard rolls which is what I bought it for. Hard to get it started, easy to cut fingers!

Too short
This knife too short. Never use it. Can't cut Italian loaves or anything big. It is sharp though. I have the discontinued 10 inch bread knife and I love it.

This is a shorter knife than I'd had for bread cutting. It went through hot French bread without squashing it.
