Very Poor Construction - Steer Clear

While attaching the common wire to this outlet, the entire white plastic face broke off the housing. I returned the unit and exchanged it for another, thinking that it was just a one-off manufacturing issue. I had no better luck with the second one. Two of the plastic tabs that secures the plastic face to the housing snapped off upon the first turn of the common screw. After further inspection, one more of the four tabs appeared to be cracked. Handle the need

Purchase a 2person sauna ,installation said to unplug it after each use.thought that was silly .i don't unplug my frig.my stero .so l put In a line and this plug/switch to Handle this requirement

Needed a combo switch/outlet, this fit the bill.

I replaced a regular power outlet with this and added me a circuit off it to add some under cabinet lights. This worked perfect for what I needed. Seemed a bit pricey at $7-8 compared to a standard 15 amp switch at $1-2, but I guess you pay for convenience.

Fell apart during installation

This is pretty basic item which just fell apart as I installed it. The plastic tab that hold metal bracket on are to small and broke off, which then allowed the entire unit to come apart. I returned this item and purchased a like product , different brand from another store. The replacement had a much better design.

Inconvenient connectors

You must wrap the wires around the screws. Most new designs allow you to strip the wire, insert into the hole under the contact and tighten the screw. Easy in easy out. Not this product. It works but is a pain to work with.

Plastic tabs that engage with metal strap and hold front on, were broken when I opened it. Very poor design. I will return it.

Easy to install

Female plug openings were very tight. Hard to insert male prongs.

Combo Outlet & Switch

Good value compared to other stores.

Purchased for the tamper-resistant feature. So far (1 week), so good. Would recommend to anyone with kids.

Provides quality when and where needed

Having had a career in a wholesale electrical distribution company, I can highly recommend this type of product. "Specification grade" is the only way to go, especially in high demand areas. They are more expensive than "Residential (contractor) Grade" but well worth it and should provide many years of use.

Elactrical outlet residential

I up graded to the better quality outlet. The dollar ones do not last long with constant use.

Broke apart on installation. Very poor quality. Returned and purchased replacement from another supplier.

Not for DIY'ers!

Wanted to convert a single light switch to a combination plug and switch. Thinking I have replaced and or installed many wall plates this should be a 20 minute job. NOT! Before buying (as I always do) I checked out the other reviews. It appeared that if their was one complaint, it was inadequate directions and high level of difficulty to install.
