Ratings & Reviews for Kobalt 49 State 6830 Starting / 5500 Running Watt Gas and Propane Dual fuel Portable Generator

Generator

I needed a generator thank you Hayden for helping me load it

It’s a very nice generator. It runs the things I need to stay running if the power goes out

Okay while it lasts

Had mine for less than a year now, always maintained it well, ran fine and was relatively happy with it. Then the recoil starter went. That's how I found out the hard way that kobalt doesn't make replacements for this generator, despite being a current model still sold in a brick and mortor store. Apparently they want you to buy a new generator every time a single part fails... Shame on you lowes! 😡

Great for the price

It’s worth it.

Bought this for when the power goes out during storms. A few days later a storm knocked the power out thankfully I had this just in time. Works wonders

Great fuel efficiency!

This product works very well, happy with this purchase!

So happy i got this

This works great 👍

Good stuff

Loved my purchase

Generator was broken.

The box arrived damaged but the generator looked ok. It didn't work. Lowes policy not to take back. They should take back products that are broken.

Reliable and portable

Used the propane option for fuel. Easy to start and enough power to run my necessities. Easy to store and relocate to wherebI need it. Love it. Best part is...can't get a generators in any store here (all sold out), but Lowes shipped it to my garage!

Do not buy

Literally didn’t work out of the box. Put it all together after lugging it home. Put the proper amount of oil and fuel and the thing would start then die on its own every 30 seconds. Tried propane and gasoline and both did the same thing. Had to return it. Disappointing.

Reliable Power When You Need It Most

I’ve been really happy with this Kobalt 5500 generator so far. I bought it mainly as a backup for power outages, and I really like knowing I have the option to run it on either gas or propane. It has plenty of power for the things I need, and it seems to run for a good amount of time without constantly having to refuel it. It’s definitely on the heavier side, but the wheels and handle make moving it around much easier. Getting it set up was pretty straightforward, and I like the extra features ...

Brand new! **already had 17.5 hours on it

such a dishonest sales practice. Purchasing the display model, It didn't come in a box, or with operating manual, or any warranty / registration info. It actually had been used for 17.5 hours & returned , then sold to me as "brand new". The young man that helped me was great so I'm sure he had no knowledge of this.
