Died after 10 hrs

Purchased this a year ago (almost to the date) after storms took out our electricity. It worked and ran great. Needed it this week and it started great. I turned it off and waited 2 mins before adding fuel as directed, but it would not start again. Only had 10.2 hours on it. Food spoiled and basement flooded. Only reason for the 2nd star was how quick and easy the return process was after the call center overseas opened up.

Good and bad

Easy to set up and had it running in about 15 minutes. I watched a quick video on the dos and don’ts before starting, which I would definitely recommend. The Lowe’s employee also emphasized reading the directions or watching a video first and clearly explained the 48-hour return policy, which made me a little nervous. The generator ran for about 20 hours (day one), only stopping when I needed to top off the gas. It was also nice that the oil was included in the box. I didn’t install the handle ...

Defective starter recoil

Starter recoil defective. Had product delivered and it’s so heavy can’t load in the car to return.

Kobalt generator

Apparently there is a low oil shutoff to protect the engine (good) however defective. It is internal. My new generator will not pull to start. I’m instructed to return it to Lowe’s for a replacement. This is a growing problem with kabolt. Problem is I ordered online due to not having a truck to pick up. Now I have to figure out how to get it there and get another brand and get it home. Not a Lowe’s problem.

Very happy with this purchase. Easy to set up.

Nightmare with Fed Ex delivery

Refused delivery after 3 days delay by Fed ex. Then they still delivered the next day. Caught driver after he scanned delivery and told him to take it back. But now it says it was delivered. Had to call Lowes to let them know I don't have item. Nightmare with Lowes and Fed ex from the start. We had a tornado and lost power. This was a generator. Now I know who not to go to when I need help. Sham on you.

The generator was good, just not big enough fir what I needed. When I tried to return it, it had been 6 days and I was told after 48 hours it could not be returned. I was not told that at purchase. VERY UNHAPPY 🙁

very nice generator, had an outage at my house for 6 hours and my fridge and 2 freezers and all the lights in my house stayed on with 1 tank of gas, very easy to put together and will use again in the future.

Failed starting coil.

Starting coil failed after first start.

You dont have to measure the oil, first fill.

Easy to put together and make ready for use, probably took 1/2 hour or less!

Simple to use

Haven't had much opportunity to really use the generator yet but seemed to work just fine the brief time it was used. Assembled easily enough and started on the 2nd pull out of the box. Haven't tried the propane option but nice to know it's there. Send like a sturdy little unit.
