What Customers Are Saying

Customers praise the drill bit's exceptional performance on ceramic, porcelain, and glass tile, reporting clean, chip-free cuts and efficient drilling. Most users highlight durability and minimal wear after multiple holes, though success depends on proper technique—starting at 45 degrees, using low RPMs, and continuous wetting significantly improves results. Some reviewers experienced bit bending or premature dulling, often attributing failures to improper handling rather than defects. Overall, most consider it highly effective for hard surfaces when used correctly.

Struggles to drill into porcelain tile. Could not finish one hole. A waste of money.

Poor Quality

The shank/shaft is so thin it bent soon after I started to use it without applying a lot of pressure. I put it in a bench vise to straighten it out to finish the one and only cut it was able to make. I m a contractor and was very disappointed and should have known better to buy a cheap Kobolt tool. I ended up buying a Starrett bit which was American made and much better quality and stronger to finish the job.

Drilling porcelain tile

Would Recommend

This drill bit worked well, I had to drill 9 holes to install my shower door. It drilled perfectly, The key way to do it is start at a 45 degree angle so the drill bit won’t walk around.once it starts you slowly move it to a straight angle.keep the drill wet and clean it out after every hole and you should have no problems.

Didn’t last.

The bit couldn’t handle the heat and got completely bent/twisted after just a few holes even though I was using water to cool occasionally.

Done in One (hole)

Would Not Recommend

This bit's hollow shaft bent halfway through 5/16" thick ceramic tile, rendering it useless for a 2nd hole, same as described by a user 1-year ago. Very disappointed, particularly as it was recommended by the department's staff member (who was otherwise helpful).

Beware of Cobalt diamond drill bits.

Product did not hold up At all or as described on the the packaging. Initially I bought two “Just in case”! Well I needed the second one and had to return for a third one! They all failed, two which broke off in the hole clogging the hole I needed to install an anchor bolt. I had holes to bore and had to finish them off with masonry bit using brawn in lieu of a sharp bit.

without a "starter" pilot hole, this will not work. Might work with a drill press, but not with a hand drill

No Issues at all! KNOW what your doing!

I have drilled 6 holes in porcelain with this bit so far and it looks the same as it did out of the package. The bad comments are from people who have no idea of the concept of drilling in concrete and tile...sorry not sorry! Put your battery screwgun on LOW speed and have a squirt bottle of water ready...the bit must remain COOL during drilling, and that's what the water is for. As soon as you break the surface of the tile by drilling on a slight angle, have someone squirt water on the bit th...
