What Customers Are Saying
This diamond-coated drill bit performs well for drilling holes in ceramic, glass, and tile materials, but requires careful technique. It works best with water to keep the bit cool and clear debris, though dry drilling is more difficult and can cause faster wear. The bit can be challenging to start and keep steady, especially on smooth surfaces, but using a jig or angling the bit initially can help. The bit's durability varies, with some customers reporting multiple uses and others finding it wore out or bent after just a few uses, particularly on thicker or harder materials. Overall, with the right technique and patience, this diamond bit can create clean, chip-free holes in a variety of ceramic and tile surfaces, though for more demanding applications, a higher-quality bit may be required.

Would Not RecommendThis bit's hollow shaft bent halfway through 5/16" thick ceramic tile, rendering it useless for a 2nd hole, same as described by a user 1-year ago. Very disappointed, particularly as it was recommended by the department's staff member (who was otherwise helpful).
Use this bit for porcelain tile

Beware of Cobalt diamond drill bits.
Would Not RecommendProduct did not hold up At all or as described on the the packaging. Initially I bought two “Just in case”! Well I needed the second one and had to return for a third one! They all failed, two which broke off in the hole clogging the hole I needed to install an anchor bolt. I had holes to bore and had to finish them off with masonry bit using brawn in lieu of a sharp bit.

drill press maybe?
Would Not Recommendwithout a "starter" pilot hole, this will not work. Might work with a drill press, but not with a hand drill

No Issues at all! KNOW what your doing!
Would RecommendI have drilled 6 holes in porcelain with this bit so far and it looks the same as it did out of the package. The bad comments are from people who have no idea of the concept of drilling in concrete and tile...sorry not sorry! Put your battery screwgun on LOW speed and have a squirt bottle of water ready...the bit must remain COOL during drilling, and that's what the water is for. As soon as you break the surface of the tile by drilling on a slight angle, have someone squirt water on the bit th...

Worked great
Would RecommendI think the negative reviews are from people who didn’t know what they were doing because this worked perfectly on porcelain tile. Start at high speed at 45 degree angle and gradually move to straight on. Spray consistently with water while drilling and clean out the hollow bit too. Drilled 8 holes and could have continued drilling with no problem
Thank you for your review Laurel, also for being so helpful on the instructions of use. We are glad you had a great experience with our hole saw. ...

Buy extra bits when drilling tile!
Would RecommendAs I mentioned in my review of the larger size bit this design was able to accomplish (with a lot of time) what my carbide bit failed at (again not sure if I used it incorrectly or it was the wrong tool for the job). Partly I was very cautious as I didn't have the time to risk ruining my only other bit and have to run to the store and get more bits (and honestly they should be able to make more than 1 or 2 holes before wearing out). But ultimately this bit got the job done with enough patience...

Go slow and use water
Would RecommendI was glad that I bought this bit along with the carbide ones because the carbide ones started out great but in the end I had to use the diamond bit to finish the holes. I did go slow and use some water both to cool the bit and clear out the hole as I went. These seemed to take longer to drill but ultimately got the job done.
