Heavy equipment mechanic

I’m a heavy equipment mechanic, and most of my colleagues use tools from a “tool truck.” I buy from Lowe’s and this socket among other sets I’ve bought are just as high quality, and less expensive. It grips the side of the fastener, instead of the corners, and I have tested it thoughrouly. We remove and replace wheels that weigh over 400 pounds, and I have to remove 9-12 lugnuts on each with a half inch air impact. I will never buy another kind of socket.

Works very well with my Dewalt Impact Wrench. The SAE kit covers 90 % of my needs and the metric set covers the rest.

Be Careful. Doesn't fit newer water heater

Bought this socket as I wanted a 6pt socket to have a better fit than a 12pt. Didn't fit my newer Rheem Performance Platinum 50 Gallon water heater. As preventive maintenance I wanted to check my anode rod. This socket was too thick to fit. It's probably a good socket for other projects.

Perfect for replacing water heater element

I tried other sockets that reviews said they used to replace water heater element's but they were too small for the Utiltech universal elements that Lowe's sells. Picked up this one in store and it is huge but fits over the top of the element and worth the $11

Socket for tire changing

This socket fits the scissors jack and the lug nuts for my car. I am carrying it, along with a Kobalt 1/2 inch breaker bar, it the spare tire compartment of my car. The breaker bar and socket feel a lot more sturdy than the lug wrench that came with the car, and they make changing a tire much easier.

What a great price for this socket, and it functions the same as those very expensive brands. I needed it for my lug nut wrench and it works perfect.

Good Product

This 1/2-in Drive 3/4-in Deep 6-Point Standard (SAE) Impact Socket is an desent inpact socket. My issue with this socket is that I think it would be a better tool if the socket end was tappered to give bettter access in tight spots. A strong socket, I would expect a long working life.
