Ratings & Reviews for Kobalt 309 -Piece Metric and standard (SAE) Mechanics Tool Set with Hard Case
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the tool set for exceptional value and solid build quality, with most highlighting the comprehensive 309-piece selection as an outstanding deal. Reviewers consistently describe sockets, ratchets, and drivers as high quality, appreciating the full range of 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drives with color-coded metric and standard sizes. However, the storage case receives consistent criticism for poor latch design that breaks easily and fails to secure tools during transport. Several note missing deep sockets and extensions limit effectiveness for demanding tasks, though most agree the set covers basics well for homeowners and DIY enthusiasts. Overall, customers consider the tools themselves excellent despite storage and completeness concerns.

Would RecommendI love my Kobalt set so much, this little box has saved me so much money in labor by performing my own maintenance and repairs on my vehicle. If you’re in the fence about it, stop reading and order it. Seriously, this is the best you’re going to find even if you start looking at sets that are double the price. I do suggest buying some additional open ended wrenches, a few extra extensions and some universal joints if you’re really going to be wrenching hard with this set. Another thing to keep...

Average set.
Would Not RecommendIt does have many pieces for the price. The case isn't the greatest as some items were able to come loose during shipping and the latches don't keep the case closed very tightly. There is no additional room in the case for storage of other misc items (parts, pliers, or a specific wrench/socket you need frequently that wasn't included in the set).
