Ratings & Reviews for Kobalt 227 -Piece Metric and standard (SAE) Mechanics Tool Set with Hard Case

Can’t see the socket size

Loved the idea of red and blue stripes to help me organize my tools but more than likely going to have to return these because I can’t see the sizes of sockets at all. Looking through the back the came in I thought they forgot to put size on the sockets because couldn’t see it. Now I have to figure out how to return this to a Lowe’s 60 miles away. Check out pics.

Box is crap!

Missing two sockets. Drawers very hard to open. Top latch broke second time trying to close box. Tools are fine.

Tools work great. Plastic box doest hold up.

I use my tools often and the Kobalt tools is a great value. The plastic box is poorly made and fell apart within 3 months.

The box

The box is poorly made you cant move it or the tools come out or their holder and the handle wants to pull out of a hole. The lowes store told me they do not have this set in the store anymore to call kobalt customer service to request a replacement box as the original box was identified as being poorly crafted and the box was updated. I called kobalt and was told they cannot ship the set nor ship me just a box. I have bought thousands of kobalt tools for 25 years and never have i been disappoin...

Stay away from this product

First the case that the tools came in they do not hold the tools and one bump on the road and they all come out of their fitted slots second the ratchets gear set is terrible keep slipping out of the lock position forward and reverse I'm not the worst tool set I've ever purchased

Poor customer service…

We bought this now-discontinued set at a great price. Unfortunately we ended up with two 11/16” twelve point sockets in 3/8” drive and were missing a 5/8” twelve point in 3/8” drive. A trip to our local Lowe’s later proved fruitless because they didn’t have the socket in stock and they said they couldn’t order it. They gave us the Kobalt customer service number instead. The lady at the customer service number told us that the only way to fix the problem was to take the entire set back for a ...

Case is terrible. Can't even open the drawers

How does this case get by any quality control department? They obviously didn't try it and actually fill the box with product like your customers are supposed to. I can't comment on the tools because I can't get the three drawers open! (there are no drawer locks) I have only seen the tools that are in the top compartment. I received as a present in early Dec. and just found the time to open it only to find how poorly made it is. I hope I can return.

Tooo set

Amazing exactly what I needed

An okay set of tools for a great price.

I just bought this today at the grab-and-go sale for $99. For that price it's hard to go wrong with this set. The regular retail of the set is upwards of $200 and similar sets from other brands go for even more. There are drawbacks though. first of all, very few of the pieces are in their appropriate spots as purchased. most of the pieces come in plastic bags in the bottom drawer and then you have to sort them out. this means spending significant time just getting it set up to use. My second i...
