Very brittle
Would Not RecommendThe bits are very brittle. Already broke both of them just drilling through studs. Also the aluminum base makes them wear quickly. If you use a magnetic angle head for getting into tight spaces the bit will fall out due to it having the aluminum base

All impact bits should be 2"
Would Recommend2" depth allows alignment pilot through standard 2x4(6,8...). If you need to use sheetrock anchors it helps if they're aligned properly. 1 Drill and install one anchor. 2 Attach board you want to mount. 3 Drill remaining (pilot) holes. 4 Remove board and install anchors. 5 Mount and attach board.

NO MORE Kobalt drills!
Would Not RecommendI've had too many of these Kobalt drill bits break under conditions when very little pressure is applied in soft wood and they are almost brand new. It's like they're made of glass.

first drill, snapped the tip off. said, "Aw heck, I'll try to drill it with the broken tip," and the bit bent 70°... broke out my dewalt bits instead.

Would RecommendCouldn't have finished my screening project without these babies. They're so much more durable then the screws that came with the kit. Also I like the hex shank, the screwdriver really hangs onto them when backing out of wood, instead of being buried in a board.
