Poor design for small hinges
Would Not RecommendThe diameter of the blunt face on the top of this bit is much too large. A 5/64" pilot hole is appropriate for a #6 or smaller screw but the tip of this bit is too large to center in the mating holes of a hinge.

Disappointing
Would Not RecommendEither these are manufactured poorly or the design is at fault. I should have been tipped off because there were several packages in stock that had been bought, tape placed over the package and returned by someone else. I bought two of these and both have the same behavior. When operating a drill they have an extreme wobble that requires a lot of care to try to get the tool to line up with what you are drilling making it unusable for a precision job.

Design flaw makes this unusable in some situations
Would Not RecommendI bought both the larger and smaller of these self-centering bits. Turns out that the smaller one has a significant design flaw: the face of the housing is nearly blunt, such that it does not fit into the recess in the metal shelf parts. If the bit's housing doesn't sit in the hole in your hardware, it cannot function -- I ended up trying to 'guess' about the centering position, which is the exact thing I was trying to avoid.
