Ratings & Reviews for Kobalt 277 -Piece Metric and standard (SAE) Mechanics Tool Set with Hard Case
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the tool set for solid construction, durability, and exceptional value. Most highlight smooth-operating ratchets, secure bit retention, and comprehensive SAE and metric sizes meeting home repair needs. However, the storage case is a major frustration point—reviewers report jammed drawers, dislodged sockets, and weak plastic latches compromising functionality. Despite this significant drawback, customers emphasize the tools themselves feel professional-grade and reliable. Many recommend it as an affordable, complete set ideal for beginners and DIYers, with portability cited as an advantage. Overall, reviewers consider the excellent tools worth purchasing despite the defective case design.

Would RecommendA really nice quality set, but the individual pieces can be hard to remove. One negative is that the bits are not magnetic and easily fall out of the socket.

Easy and useful tool kit!!
This tool kit is a reliable solution for everyday repairs and maintenance. It features a wide selection of sockets, bits, and hand tools, making it versatile enough for both small desk repairs and other tasks like swapping an edger blade. The ratchet feels sturdy and operates smoothly, while the variety of socket sizes ensures you’ll almost always have the right fit on hand. The included pliers and screwdriver add extra versatility, reducing the need to grab separate tools. I especially liked h...
Decent kit
This Kobalt tool set is a solid 4/5 star kit for what it’s meant to do. It’s great for light DIY projects around the house, simple furniture assembly, or keeping in the trunk as an emergency tool kit. The tools feel decent for occasional use and cover most common tasks. The plastic lid feels cheap, flimsy, breakable and gets scratched easily. Still, for the price and intended purpose, it gets the job done.

It has most tools you need to complete whatever project or repair you are working on. Easy to wipe clean, easy to store and no need to dig for tools, perfect! Would make a great gift for anyone.

Works for basic tasks
Would RecommendIt works for what I need it for and it's sturdy. All the pieces stay in place which is fantastic and easy for organizational purposes. If you just need something basic for occasional use, it works just fine. Not sure about anything heavy duty, yet. Will see how it holds up.
