This new universal replacement from Kobalt was supposed to be the solution. It did not fit either. So, Kobalt wins. I have to buy a new Kobalt trimmer to go with all my Kobalt batteries and chargers.

Works on Kobalt 80V Trimmer
Would RecommendIt works on Kobalt 80V Trimmer but you have to modify because thread pattern is slightly different. Just use hole punch and hammer to tap out metal female part from old Trimmer head and new trimmer head then swap them. Put old female part in new Trimmer head and works like a champ. Parts are interchangeable. Hope this helps others. I had to get creative and it worked. Took less than a mins to swap parts.
