Product worked as expected but left circular indented marks on the boards when making pilot holes.

Disappointing

Either these are manufactured poorly or the design is at fault. I should have been tipped off because there were several packages in stock that had been bought, tape placed over the package and returned by someone else. I bought two of these and both have the same behavior. When operating a drill they have an extreme wobble that requires a lot of care to try to get the tool to line up with what you are drilling making it unusable for a precision job.

Design flaw makes this unusable in some situations

I bought both the larger and smaller of these self-centering bits. Turns out that the smaller one has a significant design flaw: the face of the housing is nearly blunt, such that it does not fit into the recess in the metal shelf parts. If the bit's housing doesn't sit in the hole in your hardware, it cannot function -- I ended up trying to 'guess' about the centering position, which is the exact thing I was trying to avoid. Saves time but holes not perfectly centered

Saved me time but some holes came out a little off-center.

Wobbel

The bit does not spin true so it is impossible to hold the guide in the hinge hole to drill. Poor, poor quality. I'm going to attempt to return it today, which may prove interesting.

Bit does not rotate as expected

The retractable centering sleeve was out of center so that it wobbled slightly as the bit rotated. The result was when used to drill a centered pilot hole the wobble caused the aciual 5/64 bit to break.

Got 4 holes drilled!

Drilled 4 holes before the tip broke off. Mind you I am a woman with arthritis and the only other bit I’ve broken was a 1/8” drill bit I got at that freight store after drilling about 100 holes (maybe more, used on multiple occasions). I didn’t apply much pressure, to my DH’s dismay, and it still broke. I doubt he would have gotten one hole done before it broke! Even he was surprised it broke with how little pressure I applied!
