Hole after one field use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately a hole formed after just one field use. I’m very careful with my gear and take good care of it… this didn’t hold up for military use. Had high hopes for it as it was comfortable.

A bit noisy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A good value and an improvement over my mummy-shaped high r-value backpacking pad in terms of comfort, but still a bit noisy. Also, I find the 10-15 breaths claim a bit specious. Perhaps I have low lung capacity? Last, the valve could use some improvement. There is no back-flow prevention, so quite a bit of air is lost between inflation and closure.

Great addition to camping gear

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The best comfort to weight ratio of any thing I have used including 3 different thermarest, and multiple other brands. Only negative is lose a lot of heat would not recommend using in temperatures below 45 degrees. Estimate takes at least 10 degrees off of a sleeping bags comfort zone.

Held air for two nights

Disappointed

Limited lifespan of the Static V

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Static V made it through a week of car camping, plus a couple of overnights in the backcountry this summer. When I used it on a 4-week motorcycle trip to the Arctic, it failed by day 10 or so and deflated every night within an hour. It deflates just sitting with no weight on it - and no apparent holes. Quick fix

Very comfy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sleeping pad was perfect for camping. I have back issues and had none during camping. I would highly recommend this.

Good for summer back packing

Pad packs down to a nice size, has a standard twist valve which I like over all the custom designs out there. (See note on new valve below) I find it comfortable for back sleeping. Might have pressure points on your side. I also like that’s it’s low profile so get less movement than some if the other pads I have. Downsides, is really only good for warm or moderate weather as it is not very insulating I have had 4 of theses pads for my family and 3 have developed pin holes. One the seams let go ...

Short lived greatness

This pad was good for 2 trips then started deflating. I couldn't find the leak no matter how hard I tried. It now resides in a trash can in the Adirondacks somewhere.

Not Recommended

Just came back from a 2 night backpacking trip and was excited to use my Static V Recons for the first time. They were easy to pack and inflate which is the only plus. Me and my partner slept on the ground both nights because these would not hold air...even after blowing them back up through the night. Max inflated time we got was maybe 2 hrs. Extremely disappointed as i have other Klymit products the I love.

A great pad

Comfortable and durable. Multi day pack trip and it was a comfortable rest every night. A little on the heavy side so if you are trying to shave ounces, might not be for you. My pack minus water started at 33 lbs.

Great Sleep Pad

This is an excellent sleep pad. Almost anything is compared to issued sleep pads in the military. This pad makes it comfortable to sleep on the ground, rocks, sticks, and concrete. Side sleeping is even comfortable. Works perfectly in a hammock as well. I've recommended this sleep pad to everyone in my platoon and they all made the switch over.

Valve could be better

The valve for blowing up could be better. Its very frustrating. It is very light weight and compact. Good for backpacking.
