Kitchenaid Microwave Drawer

I liked that this was smaller than the other mircowaves and didn’t have any of the “upgrades” like air fry, etc that I don’t want. That helped with the cost. Works as intended.

Easy Access

Love that this was an easy install! It looks so sharp and sheak in our new basement kitchen.

Online order service is very slow

The product is just fine. The problem was with the online order. I ordered the item on a Sunday and the response was Lowe's received my order and would process the immediately. So I assumed everything was fine. The following Sunday (7 days later) I received a message from Lowe's saying my credit card refused to accept the order. Why does it take Lowe's 7 days to tell me my credit card was not accepting the order? I thought online ordering was supposed to be fast and convenient for the customer....

Touchpad stopped working

Less than 18 months, my touchpad on the Microwave stopped working and replacement for this is very expensive. It is disappointing that Kitchenaid cannot gurantee this part and I have to pay $400 replacement fee for a substandard product. Considering the price of this, I was expecting a better product.

Doesn't last long - Don't buy

The microwave is beautiful. When it worked, I loved it. We bought this to install in our new home that we built. I could fit an entire casserole dish in it which was very exciting. But after a couple years it quit heating. We have tried everything and replaced all kinds of parts on it trying to fix it. No luck. I expected more from a purchase this expensive. It should last way longer than it did. We are very disappointed!

Microwave draw

Only had it installed a few days ago, but love it so far. The sensor reheat works exceptionally well. Hope it holds up. Have not had good luck with Kitchenaid appliances in the past.

Avoid it. Tons of issues

Terrible. Like others have said: 1) if you just brush past it, it opens. 2) There's no backlight so you have to crouch down to see what you're doing. 3) Ours worked once, then after that it wouldn't heat anything. We had the ovrer-the-oven KitchenAid before which was a fantastic oven, this one is crap and is being returned.

Broke after one month

Purchased this microwave in July 2020. After shipping delays finally installed late August. Door quit closing middle of September. Called Whirlpool for warranty repair. Repair tech comes out looks at it and says "I have no idea what to do so we will just replace all the door parts." That was two months ago. Finally called Whirlpool for status update. Poorly designed control panel-can be dangerous

I really like the concept of a microwave drawer however the control panel is poorly designed. It is flush with the front of the drawer and whenever someone brushes by it or leans against the countertop it opens up. My dog and grandchildren have not only opened the drawer but have started the microwave which can be dangerous and bad for the appliance. Burn, baby, burn . . .

Yes, this almost burned my house down. Problem is it’s easy to accidentally turn it on by bumping into it. There’s no handle sticking out to shield the controls. I had a bunch of friends over- someone accidentally turned it on- and no one knew because the room was noisy and the microwave is quiet. KitchenAid Microwave Drawer

We love our new KitchenAid microwave drawer. It definitely freed up space over the stove so we could put in a nice ducted vent. The microwave runs very quietly and cooks evenly even without the turntable that our old microwave had. Controls are easily bumped but the control lock works great to avoid this issue. Installation was a breeze and product looks and operates great!!!

Got the microwave for new kitchen renovation. Purchased it on June 2018. Delivered maybe a month later. Was not installed till October due to renovation. Was excited about it.
