Good product for locking in stains and odors (although the spray works MUCH better on covering stains)

Terrible product

This was a huge waste of time and money. Now that I have used a latex primer I know now why this market has never been tapped into by all the other paint companies that have been in business for so long. Garbage , it's almost impossible to make it even look halfway decent. Throw your whole company away if you are gonna continue selling this to people .

Don’t skip the Kilz

The Kilz is so necessary when you are changing painted walls from a darker color to a lighter color. Even when you buy a paint with primer in it you still need the Kilz.

GOOD PRIMER

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had some Hardie plank pieces that were to be used to replace some siding on my home that had gotten blemished. I re-primed each board and was satisfied with the result. It t covered well. I even used it the prime the cut ends after cutting some shorter pieces to fit.

This all-purpose primer goes on easy and the odor isn't terrible

Covered like a charm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had very stubborn bedroom walls, that the prior owner had used an oil based paint, so every thing applied over that paint would crackle and look terrible. We decided to us Kilz Primer over top of it and it sealed and filled in all of the crackle. We were able to successfully paint all of the walls without any further issues.

Seals off old paint very well

I started using Kilz as a primer about 10 years ago when I had a couple of spots where an old layer of what was probably an oil based paint keep showing through on the Valspar primer I had used at the time. I bought Kilz and it covered the spots and it'snow 10 years later and there has never been any issue with that area or any other place I've used Kilz.

I love Kilz! It covers on the first coat, gives a good clean base for the top coat. I've used this product for every paint job done in my home...well, I'm 60, so that's a lot of paint jobs!
