Ratings & Reviews for Kichler Barrington 5 -Light Distressed Black and Wood Tone Farmhouse Cage Linear Large Hanging Kitchen Island Light

Partially satisfied.

We like the design and the light it provided. There are a few areas in the wood that wasn't painted/schlacked well (it's not scratched). (See photos)

Beautiful, but a nightmare to install.

Let me preface this by saying: My husband has 30 years experience in the construction industry, and he could not get the links apart without using a vice grip. We tried wrapping the links in a towel to prevent damage, but in the end they got all warped and scratched in the bending process. Unfortunately, we unknowingly bought a box that had been returned and was missing pieces, but that’s Lowe’s fault, not the box. We will be returning it because after two hours of work trying to hang this lig...

missing parts

ordered online for curbside pickup. the lady who brought it out was not happy about it. she tossed it in the back of the truck. I hired an electrician to come out and install the light. after he started he quickly realized it was a return and missing multiple pieces. I now have to return the light and hopefully find another replacement and then pay the electrician to return on another date to finish the installation. I own two houses and I am completely remodeling one so I have spent ove...

Pretty after awkward install

Pretty light fixture. Kind of a pain to put up. The directions tell you to run the support bolts all the way down in the bracket only to later tell you (after the light is up in the air & won’t go any higher) that you may need to back them out some.

Looks awesome

Nice light

I love the look of this light!!!

Quality is hit or miss. Check box before buying

Check the box before you buy! First one delivered was broken. Second one was missing the chains. It’s incredibly hard to get the chain links right when installing. That being said, it is a great design. Just add another hour to your estimated install time.

The installation was delayed twice!

Barrington light

My wife loves the light in our new home.

It’s pretty. That’s it.

Been a longtime purchaser of Kichler lighting and this is by far the worst experience. Installation is overly complicated. The screws included weren’t long enough. Threading the cord though the chain caused contraction of the links that only got worse assembly progressed. The worst wasn’t noticeable until the installation was complete, and that was how warped and twisted the rectangular frame is. It’s a fixed frame that arrives in one piece and there is no way to adjust it. Our only choice w...

Great look, quality not so much

End result, looks great but a tough road getting there. Unboxed and as usual why check and see if everything is there, my fault. As a ton of others have said I was missing the decorative mounting screws as well as the long machine screws for them. Box had not been opened. On top of that I mounted it to a vaulted ceiling and good luck getting it level. As others have said there should be some adjustment. When using the rods the wire is so tight inside of it that when you screw the rod on it twis...

Priced reasonably

Looks great im kitchen

Great light fixture except for one thing

Aesthetics are great, use of Edison bulbs look great, but the installation was a challenge when it came to adjusting the hanging chains. Bending open/closed of links was not easy and the paint easily wore off due to the use of pliers. A better quality chain would have been worth another star from me.
