Would RecommendThis is a feature rich ac current clamp. I compared this to calibrated flukes on ac and DC current and voltage. It is spot on for true sine wave measurements. However a true RMS meter should also read a modified sine output accurately and this doesn't. The readings are way way off. So I now doubt this is True RMS. They must have taken a shortcut somewhere, or I got a bad unit that doesn't measure modified sine and the Fluke does just fine. Not sure how it could fail this way given it works for p...

This is quite a handy tool, lots of functions (just remember to use the FUNC key to select). I used it to troubleshoot my AC condenser and install a soft-start. Works great for a reasonable price. Works better than my Fluke.

Would RecommendI bought this clamp meter to check the (direct) currents of my photovoltaic strings. This works very well thanks to relative measurement. I was also impressed by the starting current measurement. The only disadvantage is that the frequency of the line to be measured is only displayed for larger currents (>10A). Either this is a bug or a product characteristic.

Would RecommendBought as replacement for previous meter that had been in use for several years (professionally). This display is much easier (no backlight to keep turning off) and features work as they should.Highly recommended.

Would RecommendThere is very little this clamp meter can't do. The leads are nice but I also got a different set with attachments I use on circuit boards. The only negative is the live voltage detector, it's so sensitive as to be useless, it could have just been left off, I think most people use separate sniffers for that anyway.Also the screen is harder to read in the sun but I haven't used it in the sun so it hasn't been an issue. If I have to I think I can deal with it.

Would RecommendHaving alternator trouble on my truck. Worked great to figure alternator just wasn't providing a consistent charge a idle . Installed new alternator and was getting 60amp charge at idle.I will update when I use the inrush current feature on my smaller electronic projects.But so far I really like the meter.

I used this product to measure capacitance as well as inrush voltages of approx. 400 volts AC and currents up to 20 amps. This meter seems to be well made and worked perfectly. Also the meter comes with a case that holds probes and meter securely. The meter paid for itself in one set of HVAC repairs.
