Won't Buy Again!

I have used these bits for years,mostly 7/8" and 1" . They were great when they made them with the 3/8" shank, but the 1/4" shank just shear off. I went through 3 of the 1/4" shank 1" bits yesterday alone! And I am drilling with an 18volt DeWalt cordless drill. I used to use the 3/ 8" shank bits in my right angle drill for weeks and never broke 1 ! I am a residential electrician and will not be buying again until you start making them with the 3/8" shank again.

My father turned me on to this kit once he knew I would be running cable through my attic and would need to drill through some 2x4s and what not. I used everyone of them in the first project and sure enough... they are fantastic! Purchase them even if you dont think you will need them..worth it!

Great Bits

Needed to do a quick job but, when I saw these, I decided to upgrade my hole boring bits. These things are incredible. Once I got the bit started, it tried to pull me through the board!

Not impressed

I purchased a 3 piece set of speedbore max bits recently , needing to bore 3/4 in. holes through 1 1/2 in clear pine for dowels. Using bit in my drill press, after about 12 holes the bit would no longer cut and get lodged into the hole. The bit looks as if I was drilling metal. Scored and burred from the cutting tips all the way up the flutes. Nothing but garbage. Price was right, but you get what you pay for

Amazing!

So far my experience with these bits has been amazing! They go through 2x4 studs like nothing! I use these bits with the Dewalt brushless drill (model. DCD791) and have had absolutely no problems so far. I expected them to work great, I just didn't expect them to work THIS great!

How to tame these aggressive bits

I just bought a set of these bits to replace some worn spade bits. I have Forstner bits for nice holes but wanted something for rougher work. The first use was drilling through a pine 2x4 in a drill press using the 1-1/4 bit. This did not work due to the aggressive design of this large bit. The bit pulled the board up and lodged itself into the wood. After a little thinking I drilled a 1/4 inch pilot hole. This solved the problem.
