Not lifetime warrany

Item failed to release bits. Took to store for warranty replacement. Was told Irwin products were not lifetime warranty like cobalt brand. Cornwell tool rep says that Irwin is lifetime and will try to warranty the item.

Drill extension

Have brought two of these, and both snapped in the same place, where the hex meets the round shaft. I was using as an extension on 10mm spade bit into pine. have purchased another one but only use as screwdriver bit extension on low torque. These are a great idea but need to be made of higher quality material.

Good Product

I needed a extension for a Irwin Speedbor drill I have. I really didn't need a 12" extension. But I saw this 6" one and had to have it. The quality and contruction is of good quality. The end holds any 1/4" tools from drills to drill bits.

Excellent quick connect

This is a solid quick-connect. I used it to extend a drill bit for drilling through a truss in my attic. The male end slips in securely and feels solid.

Wish that they would of had the kolbolt item in stock but this is a good product

1/4-in Hex Quick Connect 6-in Drill Bit Extension

Gripped easily and firmly by the drill chucks. Holds bits firmly itself. I got it to make putting up panels and sub panels easier, but it has proven to make nearly any limited access project easier.

Helpful

Great product if you need extra length for your drill. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is I had a 2 inch versions lock break on me. It broke when a 90 degree drill attachment broke on me and I had to pull the bit out with plyers. I probably wasn't twisting it as much as would be normal with a drill but it still shouldn't have broken on me.

Bad buy

Broke on first use retainer to hold bit in place does not hold bits keep falling out

Erwin 1/4 inch Quick Connect 6 inch Drill Bit Ext

Broke within one minute. Can't get the drill shank out of the quick connect socket. This is for extremely light duty only, maybe at the best a 1/4 inch drill in very soft wood. Do NOT buy.

Great For Getting Into Tight Spaces

This is a good quality extension for drilling and driving into tight spaces

great tool

wish they had this on the market when i was in the trades. this is a great tool for installers, carpenters, or in my case, homeowner. much cheaper than extended bits and more versatile. don't make the mistake i made and wreck the shipping package to get the tool into your hand. the package is a convenient tool holder so that you can hang it on your shop wall when not in use.

Great extension bit

Very easy to use and is just the right length to get in to those hard to reach places. The downfall is that the quick connect is a little bulky. If you are needing to drill a hole past the quick connect, you have to use a bit larger than it to get through. This may not be acceptable in all applications.

Poor quality

Was using this product with an Irwin speed bore drill bit. When I pulled back on this combination the end of this Quick Change Chuck came apart leaving the bit buried deep into the hole. Luckily I could get a pair of needle nose pliers on the end of the drill bit and maneuvered it out. Great concept, but not good design. Will be seeking to get my money back.

Nice Design

This is nice when you need a little more reach then the 2" version, still has the great push in to lock feature that is so nice.
