Ratings & Reviews for IRWIN Multi-Material 1/4-in x 4-in Carbide Masonry Drill Bit For Rotary drill
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
The drill bit performs well for drilling through common household materials like concrete, brick, and softer tiles, making clean holes without damage. However, it may be less effective for tougher materials like porcelain tile, with the bit wearing down or breaking after a few uses. The carbide tip stays sharp even after repeated use, and most customers are satisfied with the overall performance of the tool.

Great bit
Would RecommendI drilled 36 holes through brick and concrete. The bit cut through the 36th hole just easily as the 1st. Still shows no eal sign of wear.

I used this bit to drill through porcelain tile and tarazzo underneath. It did not hold up well. The bit made two holes and is spent. This was a lot of hard stuff.

Not worth a nickel
Would Not RecommendThis drill lists on the packaging that it is for multi materials including porcelain tile. I tried it on porcelain and the best way to describe how it performed is to imagine attempting to drill on a hard surface with the drill set on reverse. When I was using it I had to check 3 times to see if my drill was turn the wrong way. After 5 minutes of following the manufacturers direction I finished a hole about 1/32” deep. I gave this rating a one star thinking it might work on wood just fine.
