I had some soft aluminum boots to remove and nothing would get them out not even large channel locks. Used these extractors and no problem at all. I would highly recommend these.

Worked for me!

After breaking a really nice screw extractor on a rounded of oil drain bolt I used a mini sledge to tap the socket in and then an electric torque wrench to twist the bolt off. No fuss easy as can be!

Great Idea

Purchased this for my husband and he had a total of 12 hours and cracked one of the bolt extractors. Took back to Lowes for a refund.

A Must Have For Any Toolbox

These sockets were essential in removing a rounded oil plug bolt. No other method was working, but these extractors did the job in less than 10 seconds. The extractor bites into the bolt head and continues to dig deeper as you turn it. Highly recommend!

Bites on hard! Works great

Used it to remove a rounded bolt head on an oil pan after I was unable to remove the bolt with vise grips, a pipe wrench, or other sockets. This set grips right on and does exactly what I need it to do. Its a keeper.

Same experience as others, stripped tool

I had the same experience as other commenters, box shows impact wrench compatibility, the tool was stripped out using the 10mm fitting almost immediately on simple timing cover bolts, just had no bite no matter how much pressure was applied. Would not recommend -- rounded bolt head off in the process.

Last option should have been the first option!

My son’s Jetta had a rounded 17mm lug stud head. We tried so many times that we could actually beat a 16mm impact socket on it. Stick wouldn’t go. We were in the process of burning up bits trying to drill the head out. Beat the 16mm grip socket on with a 2x4 and hammer. Hooked up the impact gun and 5 seconds later it was off.

Worked like a charm!

I spent an entire morning fighting with some rounded-top lag screws and was getting nowhere. On a whim I checked the Lowe's website and found this set. I picked one up and only 10 minutes after getting it home, all the bolts I'd wasted my time on were out. These things work fantastic. I'm thrilled that I got the set and even more thrilled on how well it worked.

Great for rounded off bolts

Oil plug on my grand cherokee was rounded due to shop overtightening This tool worked like a charm to get the plug out.
