Would Not Recommendthe hex end twisted off shaft. steel too soft.Bit fared better, but quickly lost its cutting edge. Had to sharpen several times.
Irwin WAKE UP!
The bits with 3/8" shafts were perfect, the bits with the 1/4" shafts are junk.Don't you people read the reviews? Not only do the shafts break with a cordless but the screw tip at the end is too small for bits over 1/2" it strips out before it pulls the bit through the wood. How could you stop making a great tool ?

Small shank
Would Not RecommendThey used to be great bits when they had a 3/8” shank. They are garbage now, 1/4” shank twists right off.

Very good product, but it was difficult to bore through a mostly live tree. In another six months, the tree would probably be dried out enough to be bored easily. ( we have a problem with beavers killing trees, and the plan was to blow it down with an application of tannerite).
