A great bit - but the shaft could be longer

Sharp and clean holes
Would RecommendBit makes quick holes in 3/4 inch birch plywood easy. Best results with drilling an 1/8 inch hole all the way through then drilling with Forstner bit half way through. Flip over and complete the hole. This avoids splintering. Would buy again.

Normally Irwin has good tools, bits, blades.
Would Not RecommendNormally Irwin has good tools, bits, blades. Not so for this bit. The metal is soft. Cutting went from good to bad in four oak dowel holes. That's it.

doesnt stay sharp long
Would Not RecommendI bought this bit because I was working on a project that needed about 40 holes drilled. over the course of the week. I got to around 25 and the bit went dull. I finally went and got a different bit. I was drilling through soft wood, nothing special. I wanted more out of this bit and it fell short.
