I decided to try the Rancher only six months after the day that I used it only to find out that the throttle doesn't work. Tried to explain to the store that I never never even used it but the clerk told it's been pass thirty days. What a disappointment. Had to ship it off for repairs. Never even used the thing.

Not the Quality I Knew

Good, powerful saw but lacks the robustness and reliability of the 345 I bought and used for 15 years. Overall, appears to have a number of parts that have been cheapened presumably in the name of budget-cutting, especially the clutch cover and the tension adjusting mechanism. Most noticeable problem is a tendency of the saw to lose chain tension and throw the chain after a very short period of cutting, 5 minutes or so. Don’t waste your money.

Wish I had read the reviews before purchase. Worked great for 20 minutes then threw the chain. Can’t get the chain back on the bar. Taking back and getting going to buy a stihl.

Powerful saw but potential design flaw

Bought this saw and was impressed with the power, easy starting, and weight. However, on my third time using, the chain came off hitting the chain guard and destroying the chain drive links. Had to buy another chain. After looking further at reviews I see this is common with this model. I would agree, one bar nut is probably not sufficient.

Rancher 450 Catches Fire, Total Loss

I purchased the Rancher 450 in October of 2020 to tend to a tree that had fallen in my yard. No complaints, it worked beautifully. I maintained according to the owners manual and stored until using 2 additional times in October 2023. Started right up and worked great on the first of most recent uses. Best brand for chainsaws.

Husqvarna is the only brand of chainsaw we buy. This was an upgrade from the 18" we bought in 2017. It is a little heavier than the 18" model but cuts through bigger diameter trees really well.

Great saw

Fell apart while I was cutting wood.

Been in the shop 4 times in a year

I did a lot of research and decided on this one. I have had it for a little over a year and have barely gotten to use it. It won’t oil right and I can’t make more that 12 cuts before the blade binds up. Took it to one factory authorized shop 3 different times and they couldn’t resolve the issue. Contacted Husqvarna and they said to take it to a different shop. It has been at the other shop for two months now and they can’t get parts from the factory to try to fix it.
