Ratings & Reviews for Hunter Aker 36-in Fresh White Ceiling Fan With Light Chain
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
The ceiling fan is compact, modern, and quiet, providing efficient airflow and whisper-quiet operation, especially on lower speeds. The design is attractive, and the fan is easy to install, though some found the wiring and light assembly challenging. The included LED lights provide decent illumination, though some felt they could be brighter. While the fan is generally well-constructed and reliable, a few reviewers noted issues with loose blades or a humming motor. With proper installation and maintenance, the fan appears to be a suitable option for cooling and lighting smaller spaces.

Noisy Fan
I ordered and installed this fan about 2 months ago. It was noisy. After Hunter troubleshooting, they decided to send another one for me to install. This one is noisy as well, on all three speeds

WHAT A POOR DESIGN - ENGINEERS SHOULD BE FIRED!!!
Would Not RecommendI am giving this Hunter Fan 0 STARS. I have bought several different ceiling fans with lights recently, and in the past - Harbor Breeze, Hampton Bay and others - this is the first Hunter Fan and it was the most expensive one I bought but I thought it was better quality.I spent 3 hours today assembling it - the last 45 min was trying to mount the light fixture part to the motor housing hub. There was no way I could do it, and I don't know how others did it. For most fans, there is a light mouting...

Very loud fan
Would Not RecommendThis fan is noisy at speeds two and three. I’ve only ever bought Hunters because they DON’T / DIDN’T make noise. It takes two hours to install, now I have to take it down, repackage it to send it back, and order and install another one. VERY disappointed! I can’t get those three hours back!!

Would RecommendInstalling light kit as instructed was brutal. Looks and works well so far.

Slightly enlarge non-slotted light mounting hole
Would Not RecommendAs mentioned by others, installing the last screw for the light is very, very difficult. The hole did Not want to align and it is impossible to see while trying to insert the screw up and in. I should have disconnected the light and drilled that non-slotted hole a little bigger. Also, I apparently have a narrow distance between the mounting screws on my fan-rated electrical box and no rafters or wood alingside, so I had to make a custom bracket to hold it up.

Angi does not care, do not get Lowes to install.
Would Not RecommendLowes subcontracts installation to Handi (now Angi). Angi sent an unqualified installer who broke my juction box and left me a partially assembled fan because he was not qualified to fix the box. I have spent the last week getting the runaround and no help from Lowes and Angi to correct this. I have cancelled my Lowes/Angi installation and found my own electrician to finish the install. The only good I can say is that after my 3rd call and explanation of the problem Lowes has agreed to pay for m...

Simple, modest, efficient.
Would RecommendOk, look, this is a small fan, more than capable for a room or area less than 300 sf. What I liked is the aspect of being able to add my own bulbs for extra brightness. I also remove to paint frosting from the lens cover using lacquer thinner. Keep in mind, there is no remote, but if you run two circuits up to fan you can control the light and fan separately.

Surprising Design
Would RecommendThis small fan was perfect for my kitchen which is surrounded by windows that make this the coldest room in the house. Using the reverse fan setting my husband stopped wearing extra layers of clothing and felt the room warm up within a short time. I did get the wall mounted remote switch since the pull strings are over the table. I did not expect the light to be dimmable but it does so from the switch! And the fan lets light out thru an opening in the housing that adds a remarkable visual effec...

Fan
Once I put in a new bracket to screw the fan to, set up was easy and it even worked on my dimmer switch

Small but powerful
Don't let the Aker's small size fool you -- this thing can throw some air! Even on low in my small 9x 12 bedroom it's enough to feel the cool. Pros: Design, love the Scandi look; color (black with dark walnut blades, nice!); quiet; wobble-free; it's a Hunter fan Cons: Not the easiest to install, but not overly difficult either; the light output is horrible. The lighting is the primary reason for my four star rating. I have two 5000k, 840 lumen bulbs installed and the room is still dark. So ...

Would RecommendNice small fan. Looks great in a small kitchen. Super fast and quiet. Easy to install

Quiet fan
Would RecommendThis is is whisper quiet. It was decently easy to install. I like that you can flip the fan blades over. It gives me flexibility in design. The only negative is switching the direction of the fan blades as the seasons change. I have to take off the light cover to access the switch. I would prefer it be on the outside.

Difficult to install
Would Not RecommendMy contractor has installed dozens of ceiling fans. He said it was the worst one he has dealt with. The wires were short and the screw holes were nearly impossible to find and start. The finished product is nice however there are plenty of other fans available with less installation issues.
