Needs a wider saddle for broader utility
Would Not RecommendSaddle is tight on modern, narrow 2xs, but is too narrow for older dimensional lumber. Won't even accommodate 1-5/8"; have to waste time cutting the lumber, which is a hassle on old work.

Would RecommendA must have box on the truck. One of my favorite ways to secure s ceiling fan or heavy chandelier. If you screw this to a joist it’ll never go anywhere.

An excellent idea
Would RecommendI had previously only used boxes with a bar for installation of a fan box. This product straddles the ceiling beam offering a strong solution. I would use the same box for another install.
