Would RecommendReplaced non-ceiling fan rated box with this one. Easy to install and appears super strong. Box can slide really close to joist on one side making it easy to replace new work box that was nailed in. I prefer metal box even though extra step needed to ground.

This box is awesome you just cut 4-0 hole and you can slip the crossbar through the hole and twist it against the joists and then the box can be mounted to the crossbar so there's no need to get in the attic to brace the box before you install a ceiling fan...
