I got it installed, but not without some headaches. I watched the video twice before starting. The video makes it look simple, so I figured it would take me 10 minutes max. I dry fitted the box to the bracket before starting and noticed that it only fits one way - the holes are not in the center. It's pretty obvious which way it needs to go. My kids ceiling fan almost fell completely out of the ceiling about a week after moving into our new house. The original plastic box in the ceiling had stripped out screw holes, so having the fan on high wiggled them loose. I bought this as an upgrade and replacement. Instructions were straight forward and installation was very easy. This was my first time replacing one of these. I'll probably have to do the other room as well, since the fan appears to be doing the same thing.

Does what its supposed to

I got two of these to install new Ceiling Fans. The previous Boxes where appeared to be standard Ceiling Light Boxes and may not have held the weight of the New Ceiling fans. They where easy to install and worked as they should. Note: these may not work for every install, it all depends on where you are installing them what your installing them to.

Ceiling fan box

Replaced ceiling fan needed beefier box as old one was plactic box hanging from a rope. Could not believe thats what was used before. This box worked great new ceiling fan is stabilized now and not worried it will fall.

Solid mount for ceiling fan

Though it attaches to a single truss or cross member rather than spanning the two trusses, it's VERY solid and supported my 200 lbs when I decided to see how solid it really was!
