Works great for installing an electric splice to code. Extra deep box when you need extra space. Have to get crafty when anchoring it down since there’s no bracket.

Avoid using plastic boxes for fans - not strong.

Metal box much stronger and stable than plastic. Why settle for a lighter box when stability and vibration count?
