I used it first on a desk top that was very very sad with scratches, bumps , and bruises - went over it liberally with 0000 steel wool circling and then with the grain . Then wiped off excess but wasn’t much. I followed later with Howard’s Feed-!n-wax and it looks like a new piece !! The directions tell u it doesn’t make the scratches disappear but u can barely see them - I am very very happy and plan to use on other pieces

This product really works. I had deep gouges after moving, and the dog chewed the bottom of an antique dresser. I used this with steel wool and it blended in the damages perfectly. I then treated with feed and wax and the dresser looks better than ever.

Would Not RecommendObviously based on the overall 4.6 star rating of this product, it must work well for most projects, but not mine. I tried the Mahogany Restor-A-Finish on a fairly large vintage cabinet, which admittedly seemed to have some veneer issues and previous finish failing and peeling in places. After fine sanding, it did cover scratches pretty well and brought out some color and wood grain nicely, but quickly dried to a dull finish and I wonder if even that will fade. Also, removing the plastic plug...
