What Customers Are Saying
Customers report mixed results with these threaded inserts. Many describe the metal as too soft and prone to cracking or stripping during installation, particularly in hardwoods, with some finding the material non-magnetic and brittle. However, a substantial group confirms the inserts work well in soft woods, particle board, and MDF when pre-drilled correctly or combined with epoxy. Success depends heavily on application type and installation method. While some praise smooth threads and functionality, others cite poor value and lack of clear installation guidance. Overall, reviewers find them suitable for specific soft-wood projects but unreliable for demanding applications.

DON'T BUY THIS CHEAP GARBAGE
Would Not RecommendIt's the most worthless grade of steel imaginable, it tears to pieces at the slightest tension and ruins your project. It's a scam manufacturer that Lowes should stop buying from.

WEAK material
Would Not RecommendIt did the job ... barely. The material is SO weak! It's good that these came in a 4-pack because I broke 2 of them trying to screw them into the wood. You must oversize the hole so that it's not screwing in very much. Eventually, they did the job, but barely.

I grabbed a two inch long 1/4-20 hex head bolt and a 1/4-20 nut. I installed the nut onto the bolt, then threaded the bolt into the insert. I then tightened the nut against the insert, used a 7/16 inch wrench on the bolt, a...
