Would Not RecommendAttaching a brass piano hinge to a teak wood cover, and while tightening without a lot of force, screws just split in half. Had to drill new holes in new locations, and $6.00 down the drain.

Both of the screws I tried to use from this box sheered off completely at the base of the screw head when I was driving them into Pre-Drilled holes in not very hard wood. Using an electric screwdriver I have had and used for many years without ever having a screw head sheer off before. Completed the job with another brand of screws of the same size without having any of the dozen or so screws heads sheer off. Lowes needs to check the material used to manufacture these.

Would Not RecommendI bought a package of the 75 count Hillman #6 x 1/2" brass screws for two wood projects. I did not count the number when I opened it. I just started using the screws. However as I was finishing the second project which used the same number of screws, I found the package only had about 57 screws to start with, not 75. I assume the package came from the Hillman company that way. I was disappointed with being shorted in screw count by almost 20 screws.

Would Not RecommendThese screws are very attractive. However they do not have desirable strength as 3 out of 20 broke (sheared off) under tightening pressure. Also a little soft meaning the head shreds easily.

Would Not RecommendCheap garbage. The heads snap off regularly, or the head strips. Absolute garbage (same is true for Hillman's aluminum bar stock). Avoid this junk!
