More wood chips than dirt, plants like dirt. the key to good potting soil is the organic material, and you can even mix with some sand to make it a good organic potting poil. Buy a better wood shredder. i understand profitability bit it is about the plants.

Not good for my plants
Would Not RecommendI bough this due to its being organic plus the good price point. I am so disappointed. None of my plants are thriving, with the first leaves all turning brown. It doesn't hold water, and I found that the soil in the bottom of the pot is compacted, perhaps not allowing deep roots. There are large pieces of bark and other materials that make this soil unsuitable for my potted plants. I am going to dig my plants out and go with another brand that has proven reliable in the past, hoping that they do...

New Does Not Equal Better
Would Not RecommendThis mix used to be my favorite. I just opened a bag that has "New!" on the front. It's a new mess. It's more like mulch than potting soil. I had to remove sticks, chunks of wood, and HUGE hunks of what I think is coconut coir in order to firm up the soil around my seedling transplants. Horrible.
