What Customers Are Saying

Customers overwhelmingly praise the powerful performance and exceptional battery life, with many completing full yard tasks on a single charge and appreciating the quiet operation compared to gas models. Users highlight the lightweight, well-balanced design and ease of use, particularly the simple startup and minimal maintenance. The compatibility with other tools using the same battery system is a major advantage. However, some customers report persistent spool and line feed issues, including jamming and difficulty reloading. Despite these drawbacks, most reviewers consider the switch from gas worthwhile and recommend the product.

Solid and dependable for average uses!

I've had this trimmer for a few months now and have been using it to go along fence lines and edging sidewalks. My yard is about 1,000 square feet in an urban setting with sidewalks and other developed edges, so being able to trim and keep grass from overhanging is important. I find this does the job very well and has plenty of power for the task. If you're in a more rural setting with thicker-than-average weeds, it might not be quite powerful enough. I can also do all my edging with only just a...

80V of power

Would Recommend

I was unable to find a trimmer cap for my 60V model. I decided to upgrade to the 80V model. I never encountered problems with my 60V model so i knew the 80v would be just as reliable. It took all of 5 minutes to unbox. The moment i heard the fan activate while charging the battery i was sold. I have a little under an acre. This model performed effectively and efficiently. Upon completion i still had one bar. It would’ve easily been two but i prolonged the process. I’m impressed and really like G...

80V 16" cordless trimmer. STB456 2101202

We bought this 10/22 The battery on this trimmer mounts sideways. It's very heavy and hard to handle without killing your arm. have they redesigned the way the battery mounts? You have to hold the battery end because the tool wants to flip to the heavy side. I see the new ones are STB460. Are these better?

Trimmer good, Lowe’s bad

Would Recommend

Staying power but wish it had more trimmer head choices. Ordered online and Lowe’s sent me an obvious previously opened box. Was re-taped and trimmer was carelessly shoved back in box. Nothing was said about an open box online. I’m pretty much done dealing with Lowe’s. Have had horrible customer service there time after time. Used to be my go-to place but no more. Trimmer works well, fresh battery lasts about 45-60 minutes in heavy brush. Shoulder strap is useless, need to buy new one.

Early Days yet, but Wow!

For more than a decade I've purchased Troy-Bilt top-o-the-line 4-cycle split shaft trimmers. My 4th TB died last week. It made a sort of pew! sound then stopped. drive shaft and flywheel damaged. I refuse to buy another TB anything. I know some people with Greenworks, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Ego and a few other 56/60/80/82 volt trimmers. Did some quick research trying to find the "best" match for my TB gas model that died and decided Greenworks 80V Pro was affordable, fully returnable and powerful ...

Battery not good

This battery last between 10 to 15 minutes, this is for a super small yard but not good for a regular yard, this battery system is far away to be a good product. I will return this crap. 👎

Excellent power and versatility

Works with my existing Trimmer plus Edger, Blower, and Husq string trimmer attachments that I currently have. Pop in the 2amp and 4amp batteries from my mower and good to go. I was skeptical of the batteries from the start as for tools, they become throw-away after the manufacturers end the old voltage specs. But I can't say how nice it is to use GreenWorks Tools. The string trimmer with my blower attachment is stronger than my existing gas trimmer and no more smelling like gas when I'm done...

Harder to restring.

Would Recommend

The product has plenty of power. It seems to take more string to get the job done than a gas unit. It is also harder to replace the sting as the head gets hard to turn, good and bad, you don't have to remove the head to string. Also, seems a slight bit heavier than gas units I have used.

Not worth it

Would Not Recommend

Charged battery to full, it only lasted about 20 minutes which was not enough time to finish the job on a small yard. I then went to charge the battery and it kept blinking red, which was a sign that battery was no good. I waited several hours and tried to charge battery again, still had same issue. Waited to the next day to charge, same thing happened. Returned the weed eater. Was not worth the money.
