Ratings & Reviews for Gorilla Playsets Captain's Fort Residential Wood Playset

Great product but has a few issues.

I bought this set and built it with two other people. The product itself is great, very sturdy and my kid loves it. They lost two stars due to the following two issues: 1.) Halfway through building we noticed the next step called for us screwing floorboards into a board that wasn't listed anywhere in the instructions. So not only did we not have that board but we didn't have a part number to request a replacement. They were also missing the ground stakes for the slides. 2.) The customer servi...

Can’t get any help with building the playset

My husband and I picked this up for our children on April 8, 2024. It’s now June 2 and we haven’t been able to put ONE piece together. The directions, pre-drilled hole measurements, and other instructions make this hard to put together. I have emailed customer service three times and my husband has called customer service number with no answer. The directions request you reach out to customer service prior to returning the product. We couldn’t afford the extra money to have someone come and asse...

Looks great initially, after a year not so much

Also, the install person will just be a random people who owns a drill. Be wary and fully inspect yours after its installed. This was minimally played with by a single 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 year old over the year.

Instructions aren’t always accurate

The playhouse is sturdy and solid. However, the instructions have multiple areas that do not make sense. For example, there’s a step to use a certain sized bolt that isn’t actually part of the hardware and isn’t mentioned or listed anywhere else in the instructions (it’s not in the parts list). There are multiple places where the instructions are wrong and can literally not be followed given the pre-cut nature of the pieces.

The order time was 8 weeks lead time.

The product met the granddaughter approval, which makes it top of the line to me.

2 and 5 year old absolutely love it.

It took a long weekend for my husband and I to put it together, its sturdy and the kids love it! We had one piece that arrived broken so i emailed customer service and they emailed back and sent out a new piece quickly. The only drawback so far is that it will need to be resealed very soon. The stain/sealant it comes with isnt great.

Love the double slide

I love it! It’s perfect. Love love love the double slide! No more Saturday morning smackdown with toddlers waiting to slide. Easy, wonderful, perfect. And holds adults and children.

Instructions must be read 3 to 4 steps in advance

Product is great! The instruction manual needs improvement. Missing a few steps.

crappy directions and mislabeled parts

If you do not have patience do not put this together. Needs 2 people. Good product, but the directions are contradictory at times and many parts were mislabeled. It took 2 men 3.5 days to assemble.

Bring out your inner "Bob Villa"

It was difficult to conceptualize how the final product was going to look on page 3 of 75. With the amount of boxes, nuts, and bolts it was a bit overwhelming. Luckily, as the building process progressed the confusion lessened.

Swing set: give yourself some time

This swing set is very sturdy and super cute with the widows, wheel, telescope, and fort at the top. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to put this together. My husband and I have worked on this for about 8 hours over the course of 3 days and we are about 85% done. I wish that they would label the bags of screws and bolts etc. with the size so that I did not have to keep flipping to the picture page to determine if I had the right part. Boards were labeled well so that they were easy...
