What Customers Are Saying

Customers praise the cooktop's rapid heating, precise temperature control, and even heat distribution, with many noting it boils water faster than previous models. The sleek design and effortless cleanup—spills wipe away easily—earn strong approval. However, some report burners failing to activate or responding unpredictably to pan size. A significant portion express frustration with warranty denial after the one-year period expires and prolonged service delays, with several stating they would not repurchase. Despite performance satisfaction, warranty and reliability concerns temper overall enthusiasm.

GE Profile delivers!

Would Recommend

I went with this cooktop because it was highly rated and because my previous GE Profile cooktop lasted forever. It is great looking and performs as promised.

Great Customer Service

Would Recommend

My online order resulted in receiving the wrong item, because the distant warehouse was out of the ordered item. However, when I contacted Ed at my Columbia, MO Lowe’s, he immediately got the problem solved. He arranged to have a nearby warehouse deliver my item and had it installed immediately. Next time I will shop at my local Lowe’s.

small pot surface area's 1inch smaller then our older cook top, instead of 1 8", 2 7" and 1 6", we got 1 7", 2 6" and 1 5" cooking surface areas. That makes a big difference when you are using pots sized for the older cook top. Also the temp. usage settings only work on you purchasing new expensive pans. This made the purchase not worth it. Please do your research before buying.

Worth the money.

Would Recommend

I have been very pleased with this. It replaced an older ceramic cooktop that got cracked accidentally. The induction cooking is amazing! I usually have to wait a while to get my large pot of water to boil before I put in the dry pasta. It heated up SO fast! I only wish it had been available in white (because my countertops are white) but since it matches my Advantium oven, it looks great in my kitchen.

Piece of crap

Would Not Recommend

A small spill caused the cooktop to stop working. Called Bodewell (the GE repair company in Nov and after multiple visits with no parts available, no time by the technician to fix the cooktop after coming to our house, incorrect parts ordered - 3 months in we still dont have a cooktop. Do not buy this piece of junk and do not use Bodewell - incompetent top down!

Despite appearance in photos, not a matte finish.

Would Recommend

Generally I like it. The big burner is on the front right side, which is where I most prefer such to be, given the layout of my tight kitchen. I do wish it had a matte finish because shiny black glass/ceramic really show every fingerprint, every speck of dust and potentially in the future every little scratch or patch of baked on oil or something.

inconsistent burners

Left front and rear burners are the same wattage and supposed to be identical. However my 8" frypan works on the back burner but not the front. GE says it's the pan. I say it's the tolerances and that the front burner assembly has an issue. If you buy GE, know that some of your induction pans that have worked on inexpensive induction burners for years may not work on this expensive unit, but you will not get resolution from GE. I would not buy GE again.

Stopped Working, Terrible Warrantee Service

Would Not Recommend

We really enjoyed our induction stovetop for two years, but it stopped working over the summer. We thought it would be an easy fix since we had the five year extended warrantee through Lowes. After at least five visits from three different technicians over 2.5 months , Lowes tells us that they will not fix it and will only reimburse us for ~$800 via gift card. Obviously, this is much lower than the price of buying a new cooktop. I'd prefer not to pay an additional $1,500 to replace the cooktop ,...

Good if you get one that’s not defective

Would Not Recommend

First cooktop we received the left rear burner would beep but not come on most of the time. I thought ok, just a minor defect get another one. Replaced with complete new one. SAME EXACT problem. This time I gave technicians a chance to fix problem. They came out looked at it, thought they had a fix came back with new control panel and glass. Did not fix. Threw in towel and sent it back. Otherwise, functionality of the other burners were fine. Took some getting used to timing on new pans and ...

Temperature regulation issues

Would Recommend

Terrible when it comes to temperature regulation the dialer is too sensitive so it goes from barely boiling to boiling so hard. The water spits out of the pan Similar issues while trying to sauté veggies it’s either a very low heat or it turns it up so hot that it starts to scorch them. There is no happy medium. It adjusted too much of the temperature at once for it to be convenient or effective. I don’t recommend this product to anyone i’m trying to upload a video because it’s something that c...

Amazing Appliance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love the new induction cooktop! Controls are intuitive and the lack of heating elements greatly improve the ability to maintain a cool kitchen. The appliance arrived on time, well packed and exactly as advertised.

It's just too delicate to be in a real kitchen.

Would Not Recommend

I've had induction ranges and cooktops for easily 15 years. Samsung, GE, and Frigidaire. This thing is TOO DELICATE. I've broken two of the glass tops on this. In all my other experience with glass and induction I've never had one break so easily. Spending $2k on a cooktop shouldn't require $750/year in repairs. Totally unacceptable experience.
