GE Profile delivers!

I went with this cooktop because it was highly rated and because my previous GE Profile cooktop lasted forever. It is great looking and performs as promised.

When it works it is great

This is my 3rd GE induction cooktop, same model. First one installed lasted maybe 2 months, was still under warranty, and GE service was very helpful to replace. Second lasted about 3 years, luckily had a home warranty service, but took them 6 months to repair and finally replace. It just turned on and off within 5 seconds. They tried to replace mother board control panel, then the complete glass top, but connectors had been upgraded, and didn’t fit. I have been careful cooking with it, works ...

Good Purchase

Good product. I like the "clean" and unbusy look of it. The controls are not as responsive to my finger as I'd like sometimes, but I'm happy with the purchase. A big factor in my purchase was that this model has a good repair record.

Timer volume

We replaced an existing GE glass.top that was chipped and cracked. So far so good on the new one. Only gripe is the timer volume is hard to hear when it goes off. I loaded the appliance app, as per the Google instructions, and the app control settings doesn't have an option for timer volume, that I can find.

Great Customer Service

My online order resulted in receiving the wrong item, because the distant warehouse was out of the ordered item. However, when I contacted Ed at my Columbia, MO Lowe’s, he immediately got the problem solved. He arranged to have a nearby warehouse deliver my item and had it installed immediately. Next time I will shop at my local Lowe’s.

Worth the money.

I have been very pleased with this. It replaced an older ceramic cooktop that got cracked accidentally. The induction cooking is amazing! I usually have to wait a while to get my large pot of water to boil before I put in the dry pasta. It heated up SO fast! I only wish it had been available in white (because my countertops are white) but since it matches my Advantium oven, it looks great in my kitchen.

Good looks, performance, value.

Looks good, performs very well. Fingerprints and liquids/spatters are constant cleanup problems. Easy installation, size fits existing cooktop opening. Cooking zones and sync feature very useful. The WiFi is not very useful - only shows activity, not timer, temps, other status. Bluetooth is also limited - temp only, with specific products. Heston Cue smart cooking has been discontinued and sunsetted, which was a disappointment. No downdraft model available, also disappointing. For the price poin...

Piece of crap

A small spill caused the cooktop to stop working. Called Bodewell (the GE repair company in Nov and after multiple visits with no parts available, no time by the technician to fix the cooktop after coming to our house, incorrect parts ordered - 3 months in we still dont have a cooktop. Do not buy this piece of junk and do not use Bodewell - incompetent top down!

Excellent Stovetop

This is an excellent stovetop. Heats instantly, looks sleek, well designed, and so simple to keep clean.

Despite appearance in photos, not a matte finish.

Generally I like it. The big burner is on the front right side, which is where I most prefer such to be, given the layout of my tight kitchen. I do wish it had a matte finish because shiny black glass/ceramic really show every fingerprint, every speck of dust and potentially in the future every little scratch or patch of baked on oil or something.

Good and bad features

I absolutely love the large burner on the right side of the cooktop an like the bridge option. But we had a Bosch with a cook timer and their controls were much easier to do. Also, my husband used the timer feature while cooking. Unfortunately twice now we've had to turn the breaker off in order to get the cooktop to shut down. No matter what we did the unit would not turn off and you couldn't even adjust the heat. Except for the large burner on the right side I miss my Bosch cook-top.

Wish I didn’t buy it!

One of the front burners will not work if you don’t have the EXACT size pan on it. You can put the same pan on the similar burner and it will work! I honestly do not like this cooktop and would return it if I could. I purchased it because of the safety features.bit sad I did!

Great Look and efficiancy

We purchased this Induction cooktop to replace an old electric cooktop, and have immediately noticed how much quicker it heats the cookware. The installation was very easy and looks very nice with the smooth glass top.

Good, basic induction cooktop

Works quite well, with good control layout and "burner" sizes. Seems inappropriate to have multiple red bars when the settings only allow three bar increments, the control as not as fine as the visual suggests. A definite improvement would be to sense and report the cooking pan temperature.
