I purchased these magical orbs thinking only to hang them from strings. Imagine my delight when I realized they could literally be inserted into the wall, and once a small lever was lifted, they produced light like mini suns. Amazed.

Beautiful bulbs, but they burn out quickly!
Would Not RecommendAfter a lot of looking around, I bought these bulbs for my 1940s Virden chandelier. They were perfect, and looked absolutely beautiful both lit and unlit. But within a month of installing them, and without heavy use, the bulbs began to burn out one by one! Now, just a few months later, I am down to just two bulbs that work. And then, to add insult to injury, I have tried to call the GE 800 number three times, and it first cuts me off, and then the call can't be completed. I've always bought...
Not worth the money - they go bad fast
Would Not RecommendThese don't last very long. The only way to get your money back is to send the bad bulb to GE for a refund. It isn't worth the trouble. The box says how it will save you money but in the long run, these are very expensive because they don't last. The big lettering on the front of the box says these are a 40 W replacement. You need to read the fine print to see these only produce 315 lumens of light whereas a 40W incandescent bulb provides 370 lumens. I had this problem with the first b...
