Ratings & Reviews for GAF Timbertex Class 4 Stonewood/Autumn Brown Algae Resistant Hip Ridge Roof Shingles ( 20-lin ft per Bundle )

Great

They were in great shape worked like they were supposed to. I even got them on sale because they were open packages.

Hard to work with.

I bought these by mistake thinking they were regular three tab shingles. Not so. These are extra heavy duty double layer shingles. Very expensive for only 20 foot of ridge coverage. The shingles won't bend unless you let then sit in the sun. However the day a used them it was cloudy and 75 degrees. So I actually had to use a heat gun to make the shingles soft enough to bend.

Miscommunication

This product would have got 5 stars from me, but the company really is not communicating with the customers. When I first bought these shingles, I thought they were stuck together. I tried to separate them, but the adhesive was already activated. I thought the store held the shingles in high heat. Based on the ripped open packages at my local store, others have thought the same thing. Well, it turns out that this shingle is composed of 2 layers of shingle, permanently attached. Each 39inch p...

High quality

Used these on my shed. Easy to use and layed down nicely. No complaints here.

Great asset

These ridge caps looks great with the new shingles that were installed on roof. Really makes Home looks great and stand out in the neighborhood. Great price too!

Unusable

Bought these to repair wind damage to roof. The whole bundle I bought was sealed together and was unusable.

Works Great !

Installed well. Had to use same shingle for roof caps because factory roof caps were glued together and could not be separated without tearing them. Still worked out well.

Shingles are nice

This was the first time I have used these shingles. They are very user friendly. Easy to work with, and look great. Had just a small roof section to repair along with soffit and fascia. These shingles were very forgiving to me as a novice. Would definitely use again.

Ridge Roof Shingles

Finding the shingles was a chore! Traveled to three Lowe's to find enough to cover a small shed. Shingles should last forever

Linear measurement

This is an excellent product. The only problem is the measurement listed on the packaging states this covers 20 L.F. At an 8" exposure, the actual coverage is more like 17.5'. Keep this in mind when purchasing to make sure you have enough product.

Very Poor Quality

If these shingles are made in America, please give me "Made in Mexico". The cap shingles themselves are reasonable quality, the peel and stick is garbage. The "peel off" section is so thin and fragile it literally takes a minute or more to peel all of the little pieces off that it cracks into. Why not make this strip thicker - it is the thinnest most fragile garbage I have seen.

Gives a better look to Ridge vent with Architectua

Note Look at the liner feet each bundle will cover; and compare to the number of feet of ridge vent. Matches the 'weathered Wood Natural Shadow perfectly, gives nice accent to the roof ridge.

BEST PRODUCT

I don't normally write reviews but when a product is good, it deserves a review. I just had my roof re-done over 3 months. now using GAF products and I'm above satisfied with the products and the Warranty coverage. I previous had another competitor brand (not worthy to mention) and only lasted less than 7years and their warranty coverage was awful. This the best purchase I had made next yo buying my house.
