Ratings & Reviews for GAF Timberline HDZ Oyster Gray Algae Resistant Architectural Roof Shingles ( 33.33-sq ft per Bundle )

Beautiful roof

In the last couple weeks we had a new roof installed on our home & free standing garage. I picked Pewter Gray. Not too dark & not too light. I absolutely love how the roofs look!!!

Quality Product and Installation.

I replaced my roof at the end of September 2026 and very happy with the product and the smooth installation by Tony Balsamo Contractor Inc.

Perfect!

We replaced with same brand but much better quality. Previous roof only lasted 13 years. GAF, but owner possibly put on a fix before selling. We removed, upgraded, but chose GAF because our installer carried and highly recommended. Would have went with Owens Corning had they offered. Looks great, but exactly like old roof. Only time will tell how well they hold up.

Great Looking Roof.

Thompson Roofing did a great job, roof looks great.

Relieved with GAF Golden pledge warranty

With golden pledge warranty, I'm so relieved! GAF HDZ is popular used here!

Appears to be an excellent roofing system and quality.

Roof was just replaced five days ago. Appears to be a quality product and system.

Great product, great contractor (JCB Roof).

Just replaced my roof. Great roofer (JCB Roofing), and new roofing shingles (GAF). Feel confident and happy with security a new roof provides.

Matches the house so well

We replaced our roof last month and are very pleased with the colors, quality, and installation by the Craft Built team. The #Warranty on the tiles is spectacular.

Great products

My roof was completely redone and what a fabulous job the contractor did.

Defective/inconsistent product

Major defective product. Every other shingle in pack was defective leading to lots of wasted time. Review wont let me add pictures

The rich charcoal color was perfect choice.

We were very pleased at the quality of this product while we were able to observe the team of Professional Roofing. The contractor was very particular with every process of the project. I liked the little sparkle that helped the shingles enhance the look of our home.

Compliments from the neighbors

MCAS replaced our roof this past week. For the record, their work was excellent. Our bedroom window looks over the front porch, which did receive the new roof as well. Each time I look out at it, I smile. The color, weathered wood, blends in perfectly with the house color. It also works well against the landscape. The neighbors told us it looks beautiful. We have to agree.

Excellent shingles with great GAF warranty

We just changed the roof on our house last month. Our roofer at Ritco Group Inc in Columbia, TN is a GAF Master Elite contractor with several decades of experience working with GAF shingles and other roofing materials. Ritco highly recommended Timberline HDZ as worthy of Golden Pledge Warranty with the Lifetime warranty term of 50 years for any shingle defects or misapplication as well as 25 years for Algae warranty and 15 years for extreme wind warranty.
