The Magnetic Vent covers do the job they are intended to do. I have a couple rooms that get too warm with the heat on and needed to stop the airflow. These covers work well as long as you cover the outer edges of the vent so the magnet adheres well. The magnet is not strong enough to adhere to the "fins" only of the ceiling vents.
