The saw cuts very well, even through 1/2" plate as advertised if you take your time and don't force the saw through. It cuts much faster through thinner plate (1/4") and leaves a clean edge that only requires a light grinding to soften the sharp edges on either material thickness (I haven't used the saw on any other thicknesses). The markings on the saw plate are very helpfull to locate the start of the blade cut. What I don't like is the guide is hard to lock into place without it wanting to m...

Doesn't cut long angles very well and the blade guide is hard to see. Also the blade guard gets in the way for a long angle and throws the saw in a bind

Worth every dollar I like that I can cut a piece and hold it right away and weld immediately. Perfectly cut pieces no smoothing the edges I wish I bought one earlier

I bought the saw to make an 8' cut in 1/2" plate steel. It took 3 blades to finally complete the cut. Could only cut about 12" at a time before the red light on the saw would come on and let the saw cool off for about fifteen minutes before starting again. I finally completed the cut, but it was slow and tedious. I hope the saw will work better for cuts in thinner steel.

I made 22, 9" cuts on 3/8 soft steel and the blade had to be replaced. after making 2 cuts the new evolution Evolution saw over heated and we had to wait approx. 10 min before it cooled down. Not what I would consider a work house. I did however like the fact there was no smoke, or sparks and the debrie collection was nice

Screw to hold down edge guide stripped out on first use. I got my own screw and tapped it, only to find out edge guide is set way to low for thinner material. I was cutting material that was one eight inch thick, I don’t think this saw would really cut mild steel material much thicker, so why is blade guide only useable for material a half inch or thicker? Saw had trouble cutting the 1/8” mild steel with blade that comes with it. Don’t know if better blade would help it or not. Pic below shows ...

Done with cut-off wheels and torches
Previously I was using a torch or a cut-off wheel to cut down corten steel plates. Both were oaky but, this saw blows them out of the water. It cut .25 thick plate faster than I was expecting. If you need to cut or rip plate steel this is the only option.

This device works well. The only thing I would suggest is a heavier base for straight cuts.

Can’t live without.
Didn’t even know this existed till a few months ago. I cut a lot of 11ga plate steel and I’ve always use the plasma cutter. Now I can cut straight and clean lines 8’ long.
