Would RecommendDue to the poor ice conditions I wasn't able to use my 8" auger as much as I had hoped, but the times that I did it performed better than expected. Drilling through old holes and new ones was a breeze. Light weight design is awesome. I have used other augers and imho the Eskimo 8" pistol bit outperformed them.

Unbelievably lite
Would RecommendVery, very lite weight, easy to use, and cuts through the ice quickly. We're still at about 2ft of ice in northern Wisconsin and it does a great job!

Backwards ice auger blades
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The auger works great now but the first time that I used it I couldn’t drill anything with it . It turned out the blades were installed backwards from the factory. I took them off and reinstalled them the correct way and now it works great.

The Pistol bit is awesome!
Would RecommendI already owned an 8" k-drill (7 5/8") and decided to try the Pistol bit based on a recommendation from a coworker. The cut is smoother and I get more holes out of a battery with similar ice conditions. Since the centering point was added I can make fish ponds as well for those ice derby days. Has been a great addition to my ice gear.

Major improvement needed.
Would RecommendI'd love to give this better than a 3 because it cuts great. However the adapter that inserts into the chuck if far too soft. I didn't have it placed in my drill perfectly and partially rounded out the adapter. One error rendered it almost useless. At that point it slipped regularly. Lasted the weekend and bought a 304 SS adapter.

Worth the Money, for sure
Would RecommendExcellent Little Auger and super light. I'm only giving 4 stars because the Sharpness could have been better. I found myself buying replacement blades only after 3 times out..But other then that,, this is a great Auger and well worth the investment if your an avid ice fisherman like me.
