Nice and lightweight, good battery life!

I can't believe how much I love this chainsaw. My husband was super skeptical of ever letting me run a chainsaw, but with this one being super lightweight, it makes cutting through large wood pieces a breeze. I feel completely safe using too!

surprisingly powerful

Very impressed with the power, cutting through very thick poplar was easy. And it is so much more reliable than the gas powered Stihl for starting up ( Stihl is a very good chainsaw too but doesn’t start reliably in spite of good care taken with it. )

Another good Ego product

This was a christmas gift that I had not used until this month. We knew we were going to have trees falling or that would need to be taken down. This saw did everything that it said it would do. I like being able to reach all parts of the yard and not having the noise of a gas engine. We used it the first time for about three hours on one charge.

Tensioning Issues - Factory Design Defect

Tensioning Issues - This model obvious has a factory design issue with the tensioner. I have a very expensive chainsaw that I can't use because of this. I've taken it to ACE for service. No good. The chain WILL NOT stay tight. At this point, it is a safety hazard to even try using it.

Decent cutting power, just doesn’t work properly

Bought the 18 inch chainsaw and it has never oiled properly from the start, I’ve used the ego brand chain lube and it still doesn’t do anything. I’ve had to resort to using a spray bottle and oil it by hand. Burned through a handful of blades now. It’s a pretty good chainsaw with plenty of power, just doesn’t work like it should.

18" Chainsaw and 5amp battery

I have only used it once, it worked very well. I like it because when you release the trigger, it stops. Also, buying this with the 5amp battery provided us with an additional battery for our other EGO tool (21" mower, weed-eater, blower). My only wish \ suggestion is that EGO would provide a service to "fix" a battery that will not take a full charge (10amp battery 6 years old, only 2 out of 5 lights will charge).

CS1800 chainsaw

Purchased CS1800 from Lowes Dec 2025. Did not begin to use it until late April of 2026. I was using it on a felled tree trunk having about a 3 ft diameter. The battery would die out after about a half hour. And it would take about 3 hours to recharge fully. I did not see that as a show stopper but something I wish I had known before I bought it. The real show stopper......after about 2.5 hours of use the chain would loosen and I could no longer set the tension properly. It hung off the bar. I h...
