Ecobee camera

Ive had this product for a few weeks now and so far not the greatest experience. Ive noticed connectivity issues through the app. Cameras doesn’t connect well, when it does just sound will work, no visual at times.

Goes offline often

Brutal

I bought this product late last year as a baby monitor, which is one of the features that it has on it. From the get-go, we’ve had problems with it not connecting, taking forever to load, and not being able to see our baby. Out of nowhere, they removed the feature to get a notification with movement, which renders it completely useless as a baby monitor. A complete waste of money. Do not buy this if you’re looking for a baby monitor, I would recommend anything else over this.

Door alarm

Not impressed. Will no longer be used after the free trial period. Don't get audible notifications to get your immediate attention and could not find instructions to set this up. Also, no notice on the outside of the sealed box that monitoring is only free for a short trial period then you have to pay a monthly subscription afterwards. Had I known this, I wouldn't have made this purchase.

Love the camera software need a to be better always disconnect from HomeKit also take for ever to load up on that ecobee app

Great Product

Using the Ecobee for about 3 weeks so far and it is doing a great job of balancing the temperature thru out our home. We are very pleased with all the sensors and how they work together!

Effective Small Sensor

I have installed two of these sensors on entry doors. Installation was simple and system setup was easy. They work great. One is located in a outbuilding which does not have heat and continued to perform well near zero degrees F.

Issues with HomeKit

Great camera, but often goes into “not responding” in HomeKit requiring the camera to be rebooted. Should have researched a bit more before buying as this is a common issue apparently. Great camera if you aren’t using Homekit.

EXCELLENT CAMERAS

Simple installation. If you have Xfinity Advanced Security, turn it off using their app before adding the cameras to your wifi network, then turn the security back on. Love the automatic tracking feature with using either the motion or human detection. Have one installed in a detached structure with no HVAC System here in Michigan with no temperature related issues. Cameras also work very well viewing out the window.

Installed unit at a Vacation Rental condo to control leaving balcony doors open. Installed according to instructions...exactly... on a Carrier with heat pump and worked fine until temp dropped below 30 F and we had returned north. Unit would not work, and I had to do an emergency call to HVAC company. HVAC tech couldn't get unit to work with this unit and suggested unit may be bad. Either way a big HVAC bill to try unit. Great concept but poor implementation. Might be a bad unit?

Delighted with ecobee

After ecobee thermostats , I have expanded my ecobee equipment with cameras and door sensors. Easy to install and reliable. Integration with HomeKit is seamless

Basically needs subscription

Bought it to use the open door and windows feature that turns off the ac if left open but turns out you need to pay the security subscription for that feature to work.

Great features and add ons.

Works very well, better than other brands I've used.

Another Home Run

Everything we’ve purchased for the Ecobee ecosystem has been easy to set up and a real pleasure to use. Same with this camera. We point it out our front window in lieu of a doorbell cam. Love that we can rotate for different viewing angles, and the auto-recording with detection of a person or motion has worked so much better than with a previous camera we used from a different brand. The settings are intuitive and provide a lot of control. Really a fantastic product.

Works ok, needs security subsription

I bought this to turn off my AC when a door gets left open, come to find out, I need to purchase their security product to make it work

Great product

I finally decided to enter the Alexa world. My air conditioner broke, so I had the guy install the Ecobee. Looks great on the wall. Life is so much easier. I installed a sensor on my balcony door so I'm no longer paying for my kids leaving the door open. I love the text when the door is open. I have a sensor in the family area, so the condo is consistently the same temperature. I don't fiddle with the thermostat due to the Ecobee features. Easy to use, excellent Homekit integration

I did a lot of research when replacing my existing non-HomeKit friendly security system with a HomeKit friendly one. It does require an existing ecobee thermostat as a hub, but since I've been using one in my house for years, it was a no-brainer for me.
